Playing at a dinner at Shangi-la's Tanjung Aru Resort, hosted by Tan Sri Datuk Chong Kah Kiat, Sabah's then Tourism Minister, honouring the European Ambassadors to Malaysia who were on their first visit to Sabah.

Lincoln's Inn function in London. Recounting to His Royal Highness, Sultan Azlan Shah, the ruler of Perak, Malaysia, that he had complimented my piano playing when he dined at Hyatt Kinabalu's Semporna Grill many years before. The Sultan himself holds a law degree from Nottingham University, UK.

This is my father's band, Roy Hit & His Jolly Amigos, which played weekend gigs at the Penang Chinese Swimming Club (circa 1957). Roy Hit & His Jolly Amigos - My father Robert Tan, playing the guitar here, is seated in the first row on the stage, third from the right. A long-time family friend, Ooi Eow Jin is at the piano.

Robert Tan (my father) - He played the guitar here but he played many instruments - the piano, the saxophone, the accordian and the vibraphone among them.

With my one-time `partner in crime' ( of making music), jazz singer, Gina Panizales Chan, at a special function at Shangri-la's Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Gina was formerly a member of Asiabeat, one of the top jazz groups in Asia. She moved back to Kuala Lumpur in 2005. We performed at the Borneo Lounge at Shangi-la's Tanjung Aru Resort during happy hours from September 2002 to March 2003.

The JV Quartet comprising June, Vincent and the Suro twins. Suro Ahmadi on bass guitar and Suro Rahman on the drums, played at Sutera Harbour Resort & Spa from April 2002 to November 2004 every Monday night (Lobby Lounge, Pacific Wing) and every Sunday lunch (Five Sails, Magellan Wing). The group also played at the Borneo Lounge of Shangri-la's Tanjung Aru Resort every Sunday night from November 2002 to May 2003.

Imperial Bayview Restaurant - Singing and playing the keyboard with Hanafie on the bass guitar, Vincent on the saxophone and Nizam on the drums at the official opening of the Imperial Bayview Restaurant at the Rotunda, Sandakan Harbour Square in Sandakan, Sabah's second largest city, on 8th August 2006. It was declared open by the Malaysian Deputy Federal Minister of Housing and Local Government, the Honourable Datuk Robert Lau.

Professor Hanafie, Nizam and I were asked to masquerade as engineers who could play music at the 30th Annual Dinner of the Institute of Engineers, Sabah branch, held at the Shangri-la's Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu on 9th December 2006.
